Whatcha Been Playing?
#61
CoD is BF without vehicles and tactics.

The real question is, why play CoD over BF?

Zombies!

For me other then Zombie mode I don't play CoD online.
I do have to admit I have enjoyed the stories in the last 3 games so there is another reason for me to pick CoD over BF.

Had the nuttiest walkthrough of Binding of Isaac yesterday. My tears were literally bombs and I could float over any and all obstacles, I was pretty much a flying head of death.
I killed bosses in mere seconds and had so many hearts they weren't even all displayed on-screen ( yes, the game tallies ALL the extra hearts you get, even if there's more than the HUD allows ).

Planning on getting Dark Souls soon. Didn't realize it was a multi-platform release until a friend told me yesterday.

Bomberman Hero - I don't care what the haters say, I always liked this game. I was hoping they would experiment more with platforming in a Bomberman game, but when the series moved over to GBA and DS they went strictly into RPG and minigame hybrid territory until Konami ate the remainder of Hudson's soul.

Mass Effect - Spent more time with it. Biotics are some cheap bastards, they'll knock you down and since it takes Shepard and co around 10 seconds to get back up, they can easily run up on you and shoot you in the face until you're dead. And a lot of the biotic and enemy visual effects can obscure the screen; not cool when your main form of offense is aiming and shooting.

I explored some planets. Mako isn't anywhere near as bad to pilot as people made it out to be (so far), though I always feel like it's ill equipped to fight the thrasher maws.

There were only one or two points in the game where the Mako seriously pissed me off and (thankfully) they were both optional. Who are you using in your party?

Also:
Forgot to add that I've been playing Rusty Hearts. It is a beat-em-up style mmo that I have heard is similar to Dungeon Fighter (never played it). It is pretty fun but it is way too easy so far. The major challenge seems to lie in winning while taking as little damage as possible to get better drops. It is kind of defeating the purpose of grouping. I can't imagine why I'd ever need a party when I'm soloing stages on "Very Hard" and getting to keep all the drops to myself.

What do you think about iiiiiiit? D:

I just cleared my 11th walkthrough, something special happens, so my next walkthrough is going to need a healthy amount of luck and skills.
There's going to be a free Halloween update, with new bosses, rooms & items ( I think ) and a new character called Eve. : D
Although I really wonder how they can top the difficulty of clearing the game with a certain unlockable character...

Also just learned that the Teleporter isn't completely useless; there's a small chance it'll lead you to an "error room" where an NPC will actually talk to you and say "I am error"! Of course the room has the most epic drops in a single place of the whole game.

I've never played any of the Zombie mods for the CoD games, but I used to play a lot of Killing Floor.

Also, I sent you a PM a few days ago.

Just saw it, these new boards have a really crappy way of showing that you have a new pm. =/

I think it is a great deal for $5. I wouldn't recommend it to just anyone but as someone who likes rogue-likes, Zelda, and messed up humor it was obvious I was going to enjoy it. I wish the game had more variety with player attacks. For example, a melee character would have been great to see. Still, I think there is a lot of value here for $5.

Also playing: Dragon Nest (PC)
