Attention gaming news sites: adopt a Gravitronix character!
Up until now, I've briefly mentioned in interviews that Gravitronix (our upcoming WiiWare game) will feature hand-drawn characters to represent the players on screen. While character selection will not influence game play, your character will react to your performance in game. As such, characters might seem like a "fluff" addition, but the significance of these characters lies in their origins...
You see, we're a brand-spankin' new dev house. We make no claims to the contrary, but we do have plans for many future games and that includes a number of characters who will appear in those games. Since we also wanted selectable characters for Gravitronix, we decided it would be a perfect fit to fill the Gravitronix roster with characters who will (hopefully) appear in future Medaverse games.
I mentioned gaming news sites in the title because of my somewhat bizarre plan to reveal these characters. Medaverse used to be a gaming news site and we know firsthand how difficult it is to generate traffic, so we have a plan to introduce these characters to the world while simultaneously generating hits for a few gaming sites out there.
Here's how it works:
1. If you run a gaming news site, go to Medaverse's contact page and submit your contact information like so:
Subject: Gravitronix Characters
Include:
The name and URL of your site
Your email address
Your name
Please do not submit your information if you only run a blog with no advertisements! This is intended to increase traffic for sites who are attempting to earn income from reporting gaming news!
2. As the launch of Gravitronix draws closer, we will begin selecting random submissions from the list of contacts we've received and emailing them a wallpaper of one of Gravitronix's characters. We will do this once a week until all characters have been revealed (except one...). We will then link to your website from this blog. We ask that you post an article about the character you have received so we may link directly to it (please enable comments for the article as well). We will wait two weeks after linking to your article before I post the character on this blog, which should hopefully generate some traffic for your site in the meantime.
3. Do not submit multiple entries as it will void your chances of being selected. If a person does not email me back in 48 hours after I have contacted them, we will pick another entry. If we pick an entry and see that it is a blog or a site with no advertisements, we will select another. We don't have anything against blogs (as that would be pretty damn ironic), but we're trying to help sites who are making a go of this as a source of income. Also, you can only be selected to receive a character once.
Regarding when the character wallpapers will start being sent, we're as of yet uncertain, but there will be no prior warning. It'll likely just show up in your email one day when you least expect it.
Good luck and thanks for participating in our character adoption program!
PS. If you don't run a gaming site but have a favorite gaming site in mind, feel free to forward this link to their management.

Sweet deal, while i do not have the funds to actively run a gaming website I have submitted this info to the owner of one that I frequent for him to submit for approval. I would love to do a writeup myself (perhaps one would be done on the Medaverse boards that I could potentially do a writeup for?)
Nice idea, giving the sites some type of exclusive content and at the same time spreading the news across the media in such way is just amazing.
